Supplemental Security Income Assistance In Pennsylvania
Unfortunately, tight economic times have caused the Social Security Administration to spend too many of its resources cracking down on those trying to game the system and too little on the people it was designed to help. In a time of increased scrutiny over Supplemental Security Income, it is more important than ever to get help from an attorney who is on your side and knows how to get you the benefits you deserve.
If you are eligible for SSI but need help filing an application or appealing a denied claim, call Lesa Gelb Law in Wilkes-Barre at 570-763-4714 to schedule a free consultation.
Who Is Eligible to File for Supplemental Security Income Benefits?
SSI is a program intended to "supplement" the income of those who are disabled and at least 65 years old, or those who have a child with physical or mental conditions, and have limited financial assets. Unlike SSDI (Social Security Disability Insurance), Supplemental Security Income benefits are not based on contributions you and your employer made. Payments come from the general fund of the U.S. Treasury. In order to qualify, you must meet the above requirements and have not more than $2,000 in assets, or $3,000 for a couple. Your home, up to one car and several other personal assets are not included in that amount.
I Know How to Get Your SSI Benefits, Even If You've Had a Denied Claim
Because the Social Security Administration will look for every bit of your income, I will look for a creative legal strategy designed to get you what is fair, what is just, and what you deserve.
